Sizing Your Tire
Because Nitto has so many different sizes, each of those tire sizes must have enough sidewall to protect it. Nitto tires are designed for different terrain and conditions. For comparison purposes, when you go from a size like 35/12.50R17 to a 36/12.50R17 there is no change in the millage of the tire. The only difference is the sidewall height and diameter of the tire. A feature that Nitto offers through its sizing is more sidewall size in comparison to a 35/12.50R17 without changing wheel sizes. Many Nitto tire reviews will claim that their tires are too wide for the recommend width on your vehicle's bolt pattern. Some people have had luck with running wider than the recommended size, while others say "Don't even think about running the tires wider than recommended."
